RS lightweight #441 for sale at Autosport Designs

This car must top one of the highest priced regular lightweight RS's up to date. They are asking $285,000! nice car, but I've seen many nicer ones. Opinions?

Way too much money IMHO. It has a non-matching, restamped case. Here is a photo from a previous sale.

Also the Kremer history is not documented at all. If I remember correctly there are one or two parts (front oil cooler) stamped with the name Kremer. So it was extrapolated to have been converted and raced by Kremer.

It has RSR seats? It certainly has a later speedo, later gearknob, SC/3.2 doors, wrong size tyres....

    I gave up

I started counting all the 'incorrect' things...and gave up. Then I realized, I think I know this car. Wasn't it in Southern California for a while? I can't remember the owner's name, I THINK it was Mike?

Anyway, as I remember, he had it for sale for awhile, and it was A LOT LESS then $285K. (IF it's the same car...and I'm pretty sure it is.) ALL THAT SAID...i hope they get $385K for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anything going through Autosport should be gone through religiously. He tried to sell an Aston M to a friend(an Aston collector from UK) that was total garbage. This place is near me in NY(LI) and they are always WAY overpriced. I know a great P guy who work with them years ago and has no comment(we know what that means). They get some nice 'looking' cars but...

They tend to be price leaders, yes, but I wish I had bought a couple of the cars they turned in the past couple of years! They had an unrestored R a while ago and a couple of months ago had what looked like a nice 2.8 RSR. No comment on the RS - I doubt they had anything to do with the car's "restoration" but rather took it on consignment to make a buck.

    RS Lightweight

This thread reminds my of "Where's Waldo". As an 73 RS owner, I better mind my Ps & Qs around you guys. I sure better make my restoration more thorough than this one. Any one notice inside door edges not painted black?

Yes, this seems correct to me based on the description and photos of the car as compared with the previous time it was up for sale, which as Stacy said, was in CA.

    Flares

Hard to see from the pics, but the flares are rolled, and really don't look good. AND A RADIO in an original Lightweight? A radio, but clock delete?

The only thing worse then a re-stamped case is NOT disclosing such...
