    Comments needed on 71S

My friend is purchasing this car, can someone tell me if it is real S?

"1971 911S Targa,VIN 9111310230. Car currently runs a sickly 2.2T engine with Zeniths. Car is not rusty, but most body panels are in need of straightening. Car is now red, but was originally gold. S tach, susp, brakes and oil cooler are intact. Transmission is fine.

Yes, according to the VIN it is a '71 S Targa. FWIW my '71 S Targa is VIN 9111310226 with engine serial # 6310590.
