    Wink latest hopeless purchase....

    I found this on ebay.

Like an idiot, I missed the first volume (which went for a fortune) but got the second binder:

I'll try to purchase back the first binder from the winning bidder but,
Why is the binder different from the others which have a piston on the cover? Is it an earlier version?

I think the binder with the piston is always a workshop manual and the others are the spare part catalogues.

    67Porsche911S is correct.

I can also add that the first serie workshop manual came in one volume, thereafter it became a Vol. I and Vol. II. The contents seems to be the same, apparently the single volume edition got all kind of updates to it.

    Milou,
post a photo of the parts manual, it's publication date (if it has one) on this other thread. Did you have a photo of the first volume?

A single repro volume with updates to 3/1969 was sold by Stoddards in the 1980's.

The more info that is documented the easier it will be for all of us in the future.

Original single volume manual purchased by my brother when he took delivery of his 65/66 911 independently imported from Holland in Feb 66. He kept it after he sold the car in '72 and gave it to me when I bought my '69E in 1982. I ordered all the updates for a '69 through PCA shortly thereafter. The updated pages barely fit into it so I got another binder (not correct but functional) at a swap meet some years ago.
