Thread: R Gruppe Treffen is the same weekend as the 356 Club Meet!!!

R Gruppe Treffen is the same weekend as the 356 Club Meet!!!

Am I the only one who's really irritated that the Treffen was scheduled the same weekend as the 356 Club North Meets South event in Solvang!!!??? The 356 Club event was scheduled a year ago...it seems like the guy(s) planning the date for the Treffen could have found another weekend??? I've only missed one Treffen and I'm really disappointed that I'll have to miss this one. My business is primarily 356 cars and I have a lot of customers going to NMS so I can't miss it (it's also a great event!).

Hi John, ya know, I don't think that there are THAT many RGRUPPE members with 356's, so the N meets S probably wasn't really taken into account when scheduled. Not to mention, the RGRUPPE event as you know, is always the first weekend in May. Oh well, doubtful the Treffen would be rescheduled a 2'nd time....

Solvang and San Luis Obispo are only 70 miles away from one another. I'm going to drive down from SLO to Solvang sometime during the weekend to check it out!

SLO to Solvang sounds like a great destination for a Saturday drive.

I'm just relieved it's not on Mother's Day like the years in Cambria!

Randy, I'll try and keep up on the way to Solvang...

Sounds like fun; far enough apart so we aren't tripping over each other, but close enough to allow for some visiting between the two clubs. And another excuse to go for a drive (like any of us need one).

Solvang is close, close, close. Heck, I was hoping one of our drives would take us through there. I have in-laws who live in Solvang and some of the roads I have been on out there are out of this world.

Anyhow, I can see how some might be irritated, but I actually think it works out well for those with limited vaction time. Imagine if you had to choose just one meet? Now you can do both! Perhaps this is small consolation, but I try to keep it on the bright side.
