Thread: Reproduction Marchal/Cibie rally hood lights?

And honestly, part of the dynamic on these lamps is thier rarity. If we flood the market with repops, everyone will have them and they wont be cool anymore.
    Just my two cents

    Phil,

Thanks for the unfortunate dose of reality. Those pictures really do help. So, if we were able to find an "adjustment ring" of the right diameter, and a way of fixing it to the bucket, is that a step in the right direction? There must be similar adjustment ring system on other cars....

    Cornpanzer,

I thought about that too, but I still think they would be extremely cool. I actually favor the clean stock look with maybe factory fogs, but who doesn't want to occasionally be a 60's racer with 3 pairs!

    Henry,

you would need to custom make a ring to adapt the oscar lens and then get faced with all the clearance problems fitting it inside the removeable Chrome ring yet maintain sufficient adjustability for aiming. Of course you then need to make/find chrome rings too !

believe me, there are many of us out there that have put some serious thought to this situation.

All that having been said, I have seen french built repro fibreglass bodies and chrome rings (no tabs) plus S/S mount rings and using original Cibie or Marchal Pallas lenses which look pretty good. the hard things to find ar ehte Pallas lenses. Plenty of other members of this board know what I mean.
