    For Sale: '66 911 Vintage/PCA race car

1966 Porsche 911 2.0 litre; BRG/white stripes. 1:18s @Second Creek; 1:48s @Pueblo. Tony Adamowicz drove it at Pueblo, liked it (he won the ‘66 Trans Am in a similar car)- even autographed the trunk lid. Acquired ’96 as street racer. Converted to track car in 2000; rebuilt in 2001/02; seven races; just serviced.
    All new since 2001:

Engine and gearbox: Trevor-built balanced engine, 901 gearbox (airport gears), clutch, throw-out bearing, pressure plate; suspension set-up. Aluminum case, hardened Std crank, Elgin S+ cams; Weber IDF40s w/K&Ns and correct manifolds, Carillo rods, Competition Engineering heads and Cosworth P&Cs set @ 10.5:1. All internals the ‘good stuff’: Porsche rockers, rod bolts and cam chains; new springs, retainers, etc. Distributor-fired MSD. Carrera hydraulic chain tensioners. Mobil 1 in fender-mounted Terbatrol cooler, Aeroquip lines and trunk-mounted 8qt SS reservoir. 1 3/4” jet-hot coated headers (w/plugs for EGR) into Flowmaster mufflers (meets 93dB reqs).

Body, Safety and Interior: B&D built; bare-metal paint, no-rust inside and out, by The HotRod Shop. Stripes and roundels are painted-on. Headlight bucket covers (one opaque, one mesh) Original steel fenders ‘relieved’ (for 205/60 Hoosiers). O&G ‘S’ bumpers. Lexan side windows w/straps; Lexan rear and 3/4 windows; glass windshield. Safety Devices full cage (w/last Steamboat Race tech sticker!), FloFit seats, Simpson 5-pt harnesses, cabin and engine compartment fire system, PCA seatback brace. Electric cut-off and remote fire-extinguisher switch. Wink mirror. Original, uncracked dash w/proper race gauges (electric telltale tach/oil pressure light/shift light/etc) plus original gauges (fuel, oil temp combo, speedo, etc), headliner and vinyl door interiors; everything behind seats is stripped and painted. Momo wheel.

Brakes and Suspension: Adjustable Konis. nylon/delrin bushings. 19mm (Fr) and 16mm (R) Weltmeister sway bars, 22mm (Fr) and 28mm (R) torsion bars. Turbo tie-rods. ‘Triangled’ strut tower brace. Vented disks all around, w/aluminum S calipers in front. All brakes have cooling ducts. Dual master cylinder. Two sets of ‘deep’ Fuchs 6x15s w/long studs, ¼” spacers and Steel nuts. De-cambered to -1 ½ degrees.

Misc: SCCA, PCA and RMVR log books. Original wiring harness, so it's wired for headlights; has functioning turn-signals, wipers and horn. Even a sunroof! Quick, torque-y and reliable (no DNFs). Can run consistently at the front in PCA or vintage. Off-track for about 2 years, just serviced and ready to go . $30K.

NEW! THANKS TO JIM RICHARDS- PHOTOS BELOW.

    pics of the race car

I tried to attach a few pics but all of the files I have are way too large. I don't have the software to reformat/reduce them properly. However, if you are interested in the car, just email me and I'll send you a few. And, if you're not, find me someone who is! Thanks.

If you're using Windows XP, open up Start, Programs, Accessories, Paint, and use it to resize - it's in every XP.

    Thanks!

Thanks to Jim, we now have photos to show #55 in all its glory. Without a doubt, the best, most collegial car guys are the early 911 and 356ers.

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone have first hand experience of this car? I am very interested in the car however I'm in the UK and it's rather difficult to judge just from pictures. Having said that, it looks very good from what I can see in the images.

I would be very grateful for any info or opinions on this car.

    Cheers, Stuart
