    WTB 70-72 911 Coupe w. 3.2 engine

    Hi,
I have realised that it would be a shame to drive my 73 911S targa (98% original) as daily summer driver - so I am now looking for an upgraded coupe based on a 70-72 T/E model.

Dont have to be original in any sence except for the classic long hood body style. I will prefer:

    - 3.2 motronic engine - with less than 40.000 miles since rebuild
    - 915 transmission (or better ?) - less than 40.000 miles since rebuild
    - Must be rust free. Probably restored witin last 5 years
    - Color: Any orange is preferred. Yellow may also be of interest.
    - Brakes and suspension must be upgraded to match engine
    - Rubber parts having been replaced within last 5 years

Less important is condition of interior, paint and finish.

Im looking to pay in the range of 15-20K USD.

Look forward to hear from you. Thanks.
    Peter, Copenhagen

I don't want to hurt your feelings, but the car you described will most likely be in the $25K-$30K range.

i'll take all of them at that price range. i've been looking. that would be a rough car, imho.

After rereading the description, it sounds like this is a $30K car to start. Upgraded suspension and brakes, fresh tranny, 3.2, no rust? Yeah, $30K is about the price floor for these specs.

Yeah, you would need to get really lucky to find that car for less than $25-30K, depending on color and condition of paint. That's why I did not hesitate to buy my silver car at $22K a year ago (and then sell $4K worth of parts that came with it ).

a rust free signal colored car (orange or otherwise) with half decent paint is going to be WELL into your price range if not more. even a '69T. adding a carefully done 3.2 conversion takes it completely out of your range.

if you DO find such a car i suggest you don't post up a 'what do you think' thread but rather get on a plane immediately with cash in a suitcase and PPI scheduled. they are out there, but you should remember that there are a fair number of longhood enthusiasts who are joyfully unemployed (or self employed) and spend hours upon hours every week searching all of the 'net for good longhood deals.
