Can i clearcoat my beadblasted intake runners?

Got my intake runners back from the beadblaster and i think i'd like to keep them natural color (somewhat close to carb color) instead of painting them black. Can i (and should i) clearcoat them? If so what should i use?

    Thanks!

    A fine question.

Shouldn't the magnesium ones be black?

Aluminum ones, the Porsche ones with the rectangular holes, should be silver. I actually think mine were cad or zinc plated, the ones on the '66 of course.

The ones with the round holes I think are PMOs, originality doesn't matter.
