    Hi Kiwi,

My guess would be around the $1200 US mark, maybe higher. Surely the whole package would have to rate up there with the price of hood lights??? Id love to know how many sets of these were made?

Show us a photo of the package

Let me know if you want to sell the switch....

As I have been informed, the switch is surplus to this set as the lights would correctly be wired into the high beam circuit & would operate only when high beam was selected. (Makes perfect sense!)

So I guess it must be a fog light only switch!

    Anyway - here's the set.

    Thanks for the replies.

    Lights, $600 (min. for NOS)
    brackets, $99 (repro)
wiring loom, $50 (who wouldn't pay that much for an NOS if they needed it?)
misc installation stuff, $25 to $50
switch (you can still switch them), $100
grills, $350 (minimum, doubt you could find them for that much).

total.... $1250, so, probably $1300 to $1400, haven't seen anything except a few bits and pieces of this kit in the last year, and not much NOS.

    thanks ...

    Thanks Eric,

I was hoping / expecting to get input from you

A little different (less) than my initial assessment - but I'll defer to your judgement.

What a great list this is - so much knowledge!

I'll post a photo of the switch tomorrow.

Personally I think that it's minimum value... I could forsee someone probably paying more.... a lot more, if they really wanted that kit. Note that the only supply of these lights out there is MSRoadrace at $900 for just the lights...and he doesn't have the grills, switch, or wiring loom. I don't know how many pairs of lights he's selling at $900 (probably not many), one of the reasons could be that he can't complete the kit.

I was selling these kits with Euro fog lights, and the black plastic perforated horn grills for $1,000 4 years ago. I had 7 kits, and sold them very quickly. I have one left that I'm keeping for myself, and which I won't sell period.

I haven't seen many of the items that make up these kits lately..have you?

One side note. There was a seller at the last LA lit meet that had a nice set of these lights, with chrome grills, and the brackets, but no loom. He got $1100 for the set. I think the driving lights are worth more than the fogs.

    regards,
    Eric

I agree with Eric (who wouldn't? ). I would say that there is a convenience premium for the whole thing being a complete kit. If I needed them (thank goodness I don't), I'd pay $1400 without too much thought.

When the discussion about the driving light switch came up last year, I asked Dr. Konradsheim about it, as my car has such a switch but I've never seen it documented in an owners manual. Yes, the driving lights can only be activated with the high beams, but the switch allows you to decide if you want them on or not. My switch is mounted to the left of the fresh air/heater controls.

Here was his reply: "At least here in Europe normally there was an additional switch for these lights, maybe it was different for other markets (maybe even for some European market?). I have never seen the switches in a manual but I have seen them in fully original cars"

Here's a pic of my switch (which doesn't match any of the others in my car) and its location:
