    WTB: Luggage straps 69-73

Lookin to buy original luggage straps, not repros. Set preferred but, would buy a single if that's all you have. Any condition considered except NOS unless the price is reasonable. I can't believe I just said that. Porsche...reasonable?....

Give me your tired, your broken, your single...or just a really nice set of drivers. My email is michaelfred@sbcglobal.net

Thanks for that link Mike. It's obvious that is some quality work.

I believe the original straps were not vat dyed meaning the backsides and edges were still natural leather color. A black and tan if you will. THe finish is the same as the original rear seat straps. Vat dyeing produces the uniform color throughout the leather like the straps shown on the site.

That's why I'm looking for an example of an original. Also so that I can duplicate the weight. If I only find one original I'll make myself a set. If I can find a set of originals to buy then that's one less project!

I may have what you're looking for...do you have any pictures of all the components of the straps? My set might be missing a piece or two...

I've got some reference pics from various sources plus I have a an accessories brochure I could scan. Why don't you send me an email? It's easier than trying to post pics on the board.

I'd also be open to trades if there's anything I have that might interest someone.

    Michael,

Appear to be vat dyed, but a local source at a reasonable price to get you through

Thanks JP. I've got these guys bookmarked too. Still holding out for an original. At this point if someone would be willing to loan me an original one for awhile I'd pay a rental fee!
