I bid $2,800 for it, and I didn't even need the engine. If it is really in excellent condition, that motor was a great buy at $3300 - especially for someone owning a 73E with the wrong motor.
Congrat's on whoever got it. Hopefully he is an Sreg guy...

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.

I'm going to install the E motor in my 66 race car. I'm restoring my 67S so I'm going to take the original motor and transaxle out of it for eventual rebuild. In the interim 'which could be a LONG time' install the 2.5 short stroke motor and transaxle out of the race car into the 67. I have a spare JOS geared 901 so now my dilemma is do I use the JOS short box or another 901 box with a bit longer gears that is in the race car now in the 67. The race car, as am I pretty much retired and the only track that I will likely run on is a local track and maybe one in Albuquerque where either box would be fine.

Well bought. I figure at least $1,000 under market.

I have a '73 E engine as well, in unknown condition, that I wouldn't sell for less than $3,500, because it's worth more parted out.
