Thread: VIN there, done that!

    VIN there, done that!

i think i have made significant progress in reproducing the door jam safety compliance/vin sticker.
i am ready to go to production but am calling for pictures of existing stickers
to insure accuracy and try to get a chronology.
so far i have seen 3 (maybe 4) differing types.
    i've seen 1970,and 73.
i've seen 2 different labels for 1972 (i have 2 owners manuals), and wonder when the change was made.
are there stickers pre 1970? what about after 73?
once made i will make them available to the group.
can you help out by posting your sticker?
i dream of becoming the "super secret sticker police" not unlike soterik with seats.
i'm curious how much interest is out there. have i just wasted my time?!
    my wife say so!

From My Efforts. I sure hope you can put these togethers. Put me down as #1 for this.

    Thanks for your efforts....

do you think that one of your graphic artists could recreate this sticker?

It is Silver with Black print over it

the material itself has a pattern of raised circles embossed (maybe some kind of saftey paper was used), maybe this self destruct circle indent could be copied using a 5mm rubber dam punch

the tiny perforations/ holes might be easy to duplicate with a pin

sticker material could be vinyl/mylar/ silver sheet plastic?

The exact measurements are 135mm x 40 mm

the date in the upper right corner should be 07/70 for this new one

the number sequence bottom right should be *9110201293*

    thanks

    Rob-
If you would like to become the sticker king, how about making fan shroud stickers for '70-'71 cars? These can't be had right now. They are foil, and there was an earlier effort to recreate them, but the maker had problems with smudging ink.

If I were painting my car I'd sure be interested in the jamb stickers you are intending to make. Let em know if you need a photo of one from early in the '70 model year.

I'm interested in a sticker for my '72 T. Numbers match per COA....but alas...... the door jamb sticker must have been removed when the car was repainted by a previous owner many years ago.
    Cheers!

I don't have a sample VIN for you, but you can count me in. My 1970 was built in December 1969 and I have the COA.

Thanks for your willingness to take this on.
