March 24th & 25th, we run the infield course for the first time! But from the POC site post, it appears you need a Short Track License. No students that weekend. Hopefully, work will not interfere for me this time. See you there!

Sandy,
The POC site states participants will have to have at least one STS event under their belts, no mention of the license, which actually requires 4 events. If "one event" is the requirement, then I'm in and look forward to this weekend. Thought I'd have to wait till June for the next competition. The infield is a blast although I've only ever run it during lunch time laps at moderate speeds.
Can't wait!!!

That's too bad about the students. I've liked that course from the "tours" I've done (2) and it seems managable. Maybe more so than Streets with the bowl. Of course, I didn't get to run the one part, but most of it. I've been waiting for a club to go out there so I could run that particular track. It's closer, very user friendly facilities and overall, a great place. Seems the rent was astronomical.
In a car, I've only been able to run Streets and Willow at full speed. Karts, I ran all over, including Riverside (sniff) and Ontario (another sniff). We need some diversion w/o having to drive 5 hours.
Good for POC for getting the foot in the door AFA the little course is concerned.
Chris -- Very cool. See you there.
Zeke -- I may have read the notice wrong. If you can drive with one event under your belt, there will be students and teachers. Maybe you should call Marty Mehtarian, the POC head driving instructor for the real scoop. Love to see you out there.

Not sure how the POC is running an infield course, but this is the usual layout on the Speedway's site...
