It's al good. Those Early 911 prices are dragging my 912 up. Probably worth $50,000 if a "T" is worth $75,000. I bet my 912 is more fun to drive, too!

I'd hate to see what the first place winner would cost!

I can think of 10 people I know VERY QUICKLY who know FAR more about early cars, and would be FAR better judges then the usual parade councours judges...For my money, means NOTHING, and I've learned the hard way...

    Expensive T

While I have not personally seen this car or met the seller, I've spoken with him a number of times over the past two years as he was interested in my Viper '73E (before he got this) and later I was interested in this T. I know John has sold two other very low mileage, pristine cars - a '72S Sepia Targa and a '74 Gulf Orange Carrera. I did follow-up with the buyer of the Carrera, who described the car as an excellent, extremely original car and better than his expectations. Both of those cars had won numerous local and regional concours awards.

I believe John to be very knowledgeable and capable in maintaining and preparing these cars. This particular car has only about 28,000 miles.

In terms of value, beauty is in the eye....given my addiction to Viper green, I offered John "mid 50's" for this T about 5 months ago, but he told me at the time he had already declined an offer with a 6 handle.

So let's all prepare to say goodbye to another pristine early 911 on it's way back to Germany.

It looks like there are a whole bunch of newer 911 enthusiasts that just want a really nice example, even if it's a T. I'm sure the differences between Ts, Es and Ss seem very subtle to the uninitiated.

I think '73 911s are special. I personally think '73.5Ts are very special. If it actually has only 28K on the odometer, and has been exceptional well preserved, it deserves to be sold for a special price. But $75K is a bit too special for my wallet. If it sells for that price all the better for the rest of us. The rising tide lifts all boats.
