    911S quarter window

    all;
    not sure of the vintage. anybody know ? includes the certification of assembly line test requirements for the state of California. silver frame is more of a satin than the chrome on some other quarter windows i have. no latch, over all very good. $75 / BO.
    thanks!

    Jerry,

    I think your 1/4 window is from a '75. My reasoning is that I have a '76 turbo with the same sticker. I am told that California emissions were fazed in starting in late'74. It is my understanding that '74 was the last FULL year for chrome, '75 was satin with a few cars in black trim and '76 was the first full year for black trim.

    The reason for the changeover was two fold; the first being cool factor (black trim was used on the RSR and 934 factory comp cars) and the second was cost ( Porsche was barely recouperating from near bankruptcy in '73 and they were still in a cost saving measure because of the severe cost increases of the EPA & DOT demands on the American cars and the dollar/ mark exchange rate of the period) Black ano was a lot cheaper procedure, a lot ECO-safer and a lot quicker procedure than Chrome.

    So I think it is a '75 ...... cool decal and I suspect very rare now!

    Regards,

    Chuck
