Photo of Original Glycerin Bottle in Tool Kit?

Just need this one piece to complete my tool kit. None of the tool kit photos I've searched have this, and I'm trying to recreate one.

    Thanks,

    John
(Yeah, I'm a nerd but I did take her for great drive yesterday.)

    Well....

    It's in the parts book, 901 721 327 00.

I've never seen one in a toolbag, ever..., and I have had probably at least 50 toolkits/bags. I've found the fuse packs in quite a few of them, sometimes crushed into one of the pockets, but never found a glycerin bottle. I've talked about this with a few toolkit guys, but nobody has seen one associated with a 911/912 toolkit yet.

What I have seen, and what most people are aware of is the glycerin bottle that was in the 356's. It was found inside the "door" of the glove box, under a little elastic strap.

Prices on the glycerin bottle in the 356 world I believe are in the area of $500.00 or so.... from memory.

They are a small plastic "bottle", a little shorter than 2" tall, clear, with a maroon plastic screw on cap on them. From memory the cap has vertical ridges around it.

The glycerin was used to lubricate the locks from what I recall reading about in the 356 Registry.

I've seen one of these bottles,...but I wasn't allowed to touch it ;-)

Regarding other toolkit ephemera... in the 356 world the A coupes came with a Messko tire gauge, most 356 guys know this very well, but the thing "to have" is the little red string that's attached to the leather Messko bag, with a little foil sticker attached to the string that has the Messko logo on it. I sold a gauge once with this attached, and got almost enough to put my kids through college....

    regards,
    Eric

Glycerin Bottle in early 900 series

I would like to know the date on the literature attached to the glycerin bottle. I know it is dated 4/59 since I have a copy with my original bottle with a maroon cap.

It is not for sale................The little pouch with the white powder came with all the sealed Bosch replacement wipers. I have a few of those too. It is probably period for our cars as well as the Pudenz plastic fuse box with the maroon pouch.

I saw a very original owner low mileage original paint 67 912 and stuffed inside the toolkit with Klein screwdrivers was a glycerin bottle. I almost bought the car about 5 years ago at $10k firm. She ended up selling it to a friend of mine after I passed but she kept the bottle for her 356.

If any other listmembers have seen them in the early 9xx series that would be interesting since you would think they should have ended up in the glovebox and hardly used.

Yes I have seen a bottle sell for $400. cash without the literature. This was just a couple of years ago so, $500. could be today's market.

It doesn't make your car go any faster.
