I like this car alot. But there is one thing that throws me off a little regarding the originality of the paint. It strikes me as odd that the paintcolor in the gas tank door inner chamber isn't the same color as the outside fender?

One other thing. The stickers for the rear engine compartment are aftermarket (not originals). In my opinion the car has definitely been repainted.

However, when re-reading his description he never states that the car has its original paint - despite words which would clearly lead one to assume this.
I quote from the auction, " I am offerering my excellent ORIGINAL _________ for your consideration. As many serious collectors will be looking for the best, the old addage " A car can only be original once" qualifies my 911 to be in very limited company."

So you would think the words "only original once" also means original paint, right? Maybe not in "EBay-onics".

One other thing I thought funny. He says at the end that "With this in mind I will start the bidding at a low reserve to help identify real participants". I always thought that starting the bidding at a high reserve would identify the real particpants?!

What caught my eye was that a 66 should have chrome wheels. Right?

Still, in all a very nice car.

I don't know...the engine bay stickers look just like my '65 (red border) and the same layout too.

Very nice looking car IMO. But... that looks like leaf green paint inside the fuel filler door. that combined with his original paint description gets one wondering I was also perplexed by his low reserve comment. WTF Still looks like a very well preserved car.

BTW, has anyone checked out the 66 on Memory Motors website. He is WI based and I originally thought this might be his. My mechanic/technician works on his cars and he always has really nice stuff. Take a look at his 66 - it is a pretty nice car also - obviously not bone stock original, but nice looking anyway.

On the photo of the gas filler, it shows a blank plug. My '68 doesn't have this. I was talking with Ed Mayo and he said it looks like the later cars that have the fuel evaporative system to the filler neck.

    Any ideas on this?
