    Spoiler for 1970 911S?

    Hi there

I've bought a '70 911S and the certificate that I got for it from Porsche states that it had a "rear spoiler" when it left the factory. It's missing now but I'd like to add a correct one (or at least know how it looked). I guess the RS duck tail (or something similar) hasn't been invented then. Does anybody have an idea what this spoiler (if the certificate is correct) could have looked like? The fact supporting the information given by Porsche is that there are indeed holes to screw on a spoiler in the original alumnium deck lid.

    Thanks for your valuable input.

    Mike,
I am not aware of any factory rear spoilers used on 911's prior to the ducktails in 1973. The COA's are pretty famous for these kinds of "mistakes". The original ducktails were F/G bonded to either a aluminum or steel deck lid.

    rear spoiler

Thanks for your input guys, I appreciate it. I guess the certificate is just wrong i.e. someone mixed something up. I've never heard of such a spoiler and thought it to be interesting. But as you say, probably a mix up and coincidence that there are some holes in the rear deck lid.

I'll have the holes welded and the deck lid painted
