I think his ad could be a little deceiving. First off, those dashes are still readily available and for less than his opening bid. Secondly, he shows the speaker cover on the dash, but then later states that it is not included. Pelican parts sells these dashes for $1205.50 and the speaker grill is included. To me NOS mean OLD stock that is new, never installed. I suspect his dash is truely just new because they are obviously still being made. The new ones have fitment issues though. If his is truely NOS, it would be worth the extra money to know that it will bolt right in and fit well right out of the box.

My understanding is that Dave, the seller, knows the difference. He has had a massive store of NOS (not repro) parts in the past. If it is the same as the Stoddard dash, it needs to be called out because as was suggested above, they SUCK.

That speaker grille is from a later dash anyway even if the dash is truely NOS 69-73.

This is NOT NOS!!! I have bought several parts from him recently and all parts were described as NOS. NOT TRUE. my door sill plates even have the new porsche sticker on it. The dash is the same as Stoddards, which have horrible fitment issues. This is person needs to be addressed because lots, I'm not saying all, but lots of his parts are repro.

I've bought a set of valves for my for my '67S at half price recently, and was very happy. He is good at capitalizing on those three letters that get this community so excited however.

The original part number for the 69-73 dash was 911 552 048 00 for the dash only, hole for but no speaker grill as part of the dash-the speaker grill was a seperate part number. The "Stoddard" dash which is in fact a Porsche part number in the Porsche parts system and available on order from any Porsche dealer is 911 552 031 709 and this part number includes the seperate speaker grill sold with it. Fitment issues or not, this is a "Porsche part" supplied by a supplier to Porsche AG and normally sold thru Porsche.

Perhaps? the newer 709 part number only was created to include the grill with the part. RS Roadrace is asking a small premium over other list price sources.

More likely, MSRR is selling an item that normally sells for $12XX for $14XX, and not including a part he will charge an additional $150 or so for.

Now, rumor has it that these dashes are out of stock, so a premium may be warranted. But they will be produced again, before too long, I bet. And with luck, the new 'run' of dashes won't have the fit issues the recent run did.

    Out of Stock NOT

I called today because I didn't know, in fact, that these were even recently available. Stoddard and OTHERS have them in stock and there are plenty more in Germany.

Ah, that's news to several folks I know in the biz. Good news. Anyone with a PCA discount can get the (poor fitting) OEM replacement -- complete with speaker grille -- for just over a grand, then, yes?
