Has anyone got Mobil Pegasus on their car??

What do you think about showing a Pegasus on the car?
I'm thinking upper wing, below the fuel filler cap and matched up the other side.
I've seen plenty on 'outlaw' 356's but few on the 911
    Anyone with pictures...?

    Gilbert,

Great question... I have not seen the 'traditional' Mobilgas Pegasus logo on a 911...

I found this quick history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobil

I think we see the Pegasus on 356 era cars because the company was in the public's eye with both motor sports and their famous Economy Runs... The Economy Runs ended in '62....

I have seen plenty of contemporary MOBIL logos on both new and vintage cars promoting Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil....

    Hope this helps...

    here's an example...

    to get you going...
I put these on the car to capture the overall "vintage race spirit": knowing full well the dating element is a little off (see chucks' post). I just think the Pegasus is a neat icon. I want one of those huge (and $$$) neon versions for the side of my house - I got a great, protected spot for it, right by the front entry!
    Hope this helps
    Cheers
    Thom

    Great look Thom!

With the amount of oil these old dawgs burn / return straight to mother earth... we should ALL be running Mobil / Shell / Sunoco / BP / Union 76 / sponsor decals!!

PS - Please post detailed pics of your neighbor's faces when you get that sign up!!

That's great! - really like the look - think I will do it.
Tom, what size (approx) are the ones on your car??
Do you remember where you got them?
    Thanks
    ps.
As Andy (who knows me) pointed out, my real name's Chris - Gilbert is just my user..

Thanks again. Any more pics appreciated - but I think we'll struggle to beat the look on Tom's

I've been sittin on a pair of those decals for a few years now going back and forth about sticking them on the front fenders in front of the door like that. I'm thinking waiting until I repaint the car before using them.
