    Fresh air blower controls

How does one access the sliding front air blower fan control so I can see if it is making contact correctly?

My blower motor works fine when I run 12v to it, but not when the slider is used.

I think that you can test the switches easer from in the trunk ( boot? ) at the point they connect to the motor housing , do it with the key off just go 1 side to ground and put your meter on ohms and check each of the wires (4 of them ) with the switch in the off position ( you should see nothing) then move the slider to the 3 on on spots and on 3 wires you should see resistance for each position then check the 4th wire with the key on and switch the meter to dcv and you should see 12v on 1 of the wires , I hope I am making some kind of sense! Good luck.

Try some electrical contact spray cleaner. The slide contacts often get dirty or corrodes over preventing good contact. Get the ones that has a tube that attaches to the nozzel, this way you can spray it without removing the switches. WD90 works as well, but is a bit messy. Last resort is to remove the panel, but with the cables and fan housing in the way, it becomes somewhat involved. Easy fix, but lots of work getting to it. Good luck Allan
