Weren't they all the same style from 68 up to 72? Maybe this will help broaden the search.

No, different attachment bases - at least for mine, the 2 attachments at the base are flat and hook into clips on the back of the seats, whereas later headrests have a pair of bases that are round in diameter, and they go into the top of the seats.

Autos Int. sells repro sets (very accurate) for $525 in Vinyl. It includes the brackets.

I just had a peak at my friend's all-original '68S (I'm storing it for him) - the headrests are just like the later ones - the circular posts slide into holes at the top of the seat......

Headrests became mandatory for US cars in 1968. However ROW cars didn't necessarily have the same mandate. European cars could be imported by an individual and brought into the states without meeting DOT or EPA requirements. Headrests weren't mandatory in Germany in 1968. My father was in this business at the time, and I recall several cars coming in without some of the mandates. So, it could be that ROW option of the roll headrests was still in place, but I'm not near my factory parts book to confirm. I have seen one documented car with a factory roll headrest on the passenger side in a 1968 car.

    regards,
    Eric

Interesting, I'll take some photos and upload them - mine are like the way 356's are set up, with attachments to the back of the seats.

Cripes, that's expensive, especially if you convert that to Aussie dollars (over AU$750)... do they have a website I can take a look at?

I do not see it on their website, but they have/had an add in the 356registry.

p.s. it's not expensive, it are just 356 prices
