Heart shape cut-out in Trunk Carpet

There is a small heart cut out of my early 70 original trunk carpet near the passenger side front. Anyone else have this and does it have anything to do with the early deep 6 wheels that have the bump I have the early deep 6 wheels with the hearts and have no other idea why this small heart would be cut into the carpet..

    Two horrible possibilities:

Radio or alarm. <-- I delete both.

I meant that the only reasons I know of for a non-original cutout in original carpeting are:

1)radio - amplifier, wires, speakers, etc.
2)alarm systems - speakers, wires, control modules, sensors, etc.

Both of the above scenarios are horrible, and I do my best to delete them from customers' cars whenever possible.

    boxter,
are you sure it isn't a snag/tear hole?
the non woven trunk material will do that if stretched.
maybe if you post a picture?

There are some holes in mine also but none that pretty. I think I had a careless welder near my trunk at one time; or the hood was off for a repaint at a body shop...
