He took an offer for 20k. The second engine was a 68, 2.0 likely and was complete in running condition. Decklid was original alum. Evidence of previous roll bar. Combined with the engine compartment pic showing the big fender washer and thru bolt, was likely raced. Car was originally from Cal. Looks like a lot of work though. Gaps are bad, looks like a torn rear sway mount maybe in one pic. Rust. I talked with this morn. about 15 min before he shut it down and I was already bidding. He didn't mention offers then I called him back, talked with his wife and let him know about the current 23k S and the 67S. He probably made a killing but, he could have probably done better. Second engine, Recaro bucket etc.

    Unhappy "70 S ebay

The gentleman whom I spoke with late on tues when it first appreared seemed willing to deal even offered a buy it now of 14K but I was not prepared to commit and offered to call if I were to send a 2.5k deposit before
noon ,forgetting i'm away in cali and awaking at 9:00 am it was already noon in Kentucky and he made a subsequent deal at 17k to someone in southern california ,he said he really just had the guys email not full name..
Looked like a reasonably presentable car ,not nearly the deterioration of the
burgandy car..yes the complete motor in peices was matching serial numbers
and the assembled motor was said to be a '68 with carbs ..
    Another saved in my opinion..Bert

Chuck Goldsborough (Baron) bought it. We left Baltimore at 6:30 AM yesterday morning with a rollback and a Tundra. We drove through rain and snow for most of the 900+ mile round trip to Kentucky, getting back a little after 11:00PM last night with the car and a nice assortment of parts. A great adventure!
