Thread: Ground wire, rear taillight

    Ground wire, rear taillight

The ground wire for the rear right taillight is hanging under the bumper, where is it supposed to be bolted?

On the left side it goes to a bolt on the engine tin just behind and to the right of the taillight housing. The right side is not a mirror of the leftside.

I thought on both sides it is grounded via the bolts that hold the bumper to the chassis rail.

I think grounding to the engine tin is incorrect.

Any taillight grounds I have messed with have allways been grounded with the bumper to chaise bolts as Bob has already stated. Clean both side of the connactor and mating surface on the bracket and allen bolt as well. Other wise it won't take long for the ground to possably go bad. Of course thats up here in God's country where salt is used on the roads.
