    In car camera's

The YouTube thing got me thinking. I would like to set something up for a DE coming up shortly. The goal was to use what I already have and manufacture some sort of bracket and mounting device. I was thinking a hollow square bar of some sort fastened to the head rests with u-bolts and placing a small cybershot sony camera in between the driver and passenger seats secured by a bolt at the end (mounted like a tipod would use) and maybe something on the other end for a little extra security. Probably not the best description, but hey as long as I know what I mean right

Does anyone know what, if any, PCA requirements there are for DE's and in car cameras?

Kinda like that, but with a digital camera set in video mode (bout 6 oz and 3 by 6 inches)

I use a couple of set ups, once is a bracket that is attached to my rollbar, and the other is a suction cap bracket that attaches to the window or outside body work (used for my bullet camera). These are able to take some fairly decent weight, and mean you can get some good angles for shots.
I got mine at Jaycar in here in Melbourne, but i am sure that you can find some at an electronics shop or camera store.

I don't know PCA requirements, but a lot of scrutineers are going to look for redundant mounting. This means if that mounting bolt (or another part of the mount) failed, would something else keep the camera from flopping around in the cockpit? Addressing this can be as simple as a strap that runs through the uprights of the headrest and then loops through the handle of the camera.
