Thread: California Dreaming?

  1. #1

    Question California Dreaming?

There is an off chance that I might be in LA on the night of the 30th and staying May 1st and 2nd and most importantly driving my 911.

I know there are a zillion great roads around the area but I've done nothing but drive through LA on the way some place else and never in my 911.

Any chance someone has the time to give a list of the roads I have to drive while I am there? Anyone have the time to join me for a guided tour with their car or ride shotgun with me? (I'd happily buy lunch

Leaving for the SLO meet at some point and would like to convoy over there if possible. Just wanted to get the most out of this trip as time allows. Old hat for you guys but Mullholland, Stunt Rd, ect. seem like a must dos if I am going to be in the area.

    TIA

    Dane,

Do you have Microsoft's Street and Trips software? In the past I have designed some routes through the Santa Monica Mountains, Ventura county, and Santa Barbara for club fun-runs. I have archived them, turn by turn, on the Microsoft's software. I could potentially send them to you, if I can find them. A map example is below...

start out on PCH around the Vasek dealership in Hermosa and cruise down through Redondo down to PV on Rancho PalosVerdes Drive, its like driving the French Mediterranean. stop at the wale watching site and have lunch at the admiral ritsy along the ocean. also go to santa monica and go down the incline (santa monica blvd) to pch and drive up to santa barbara along the coast and have lunch at the four seasons hotel. enjoy the trip

Those roads never get old, do they, Chuck? It's like having your own private test track...

I have mapped the roads in the Santa Monica's that Chuck is referring to amongst others as part of the runs I've done. I do most everything first on my motorcycle then string them together for a weekend run for the GPX region.

    Another map attached

Word of caution. Weekend enforcement is very heavy at times so be aware.

    I sent you a PM.
