    Early headlight adjuster grommet?

On the early SB19 SB 20 SB 21 USA headlight assembles, the adjusting screws have a threaded tang that fit into a grommet providing the adjustment connection. The grommets are deteriorating on my assemblies so the tang pops out and they will not hold an adjustment.

Is there a part number for the grommets, are they being reproduced or is there a common workaround for replacing them? Perhaps a small rubber stopper could be modified to work. Can someone point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

I used a small cross section piece of hose....the hose was about the same size...may have been vacuum hose....it has worked fine so far...

Ditto-I have used Tygon tubing for that, which comes in a range of sizes, but I can't remember what size fits there. 1/8" maybe? Take the whole assembly down to the local hardware store and just test fit the various tubing sizes until you find the one that is a good, tight press fit in the hole.

Thank you for the responses the tubing worked out great. I got 2 varieties, both 1/8” one was a fuel and the other was a vacuum. The fuel was a thicker walled and smaller ID. I used the thinner walled vacuum style.

For those interested the thread size on the adjusting screws is 4mm .7 pitch.
