    Bilsteins Vs Koni ?

I'm still doing a bit of research into what shocks to fit to my car.

My 2.4S is equipped with Koni 's , but it seems most people fit Bilsteins when replacing their suspension components.

    Why?

What will the Bilsteins offer me over new Koni red or Koni yellow inserts / shocks?

I have done both conversions. The koni shock appears to be stiffer in the sense that the ride is more tooth shattering. While the bilsteins handle just as well as the knoi's, they seem to handle challenging (bumpy/uneven surfaces) much better. The bilstein also seems to handle bumps a bit better.
I feel that they both offer very similiar cornering characteristics.

I love the bilstein shocks. I have used them im my 930 and S and would pick them all the time over the koni's

If you plan to lower the car a bit, use the bilstein front struts that have the lowered spindles. Don't just buy the inserts.

    Good luck.

thanks for the reply Sounds like Bilsteins are the way to go

having looked at my struts, I'm now not convinced they are koni's. They have a single coat of black paint & no 'koni' stamp on them any where.

I think the struts could be Boge with 3.5" spacing for the S callipers ( or A ).

If they are Boge it means I can fit Bilsteins quite easily
