Need period correct tires for a 73 RS

I am looking for a set of tires for a 73 RS that are period correct. The car has a set of michelins on a set of wheels for the street right now. I am looking for a set of tires that can be put on another set of wheels for concours purpose only and they must be a tire from the early 70's preferably OEM. The wheels are 7X15 anf 8X15 and the tires that are currently on the car are 205/15 60 in the fronts and 215/15 60 in the rear. Any ideas? Price? Where to get them? etc...Thanks in advance.

PS: I know the car came with 6" and 7"'s but it is not a full concours car. We are just looking for some tires that will only be used for shows etc.

    The correct original sizes for both the 6&7 x 15 & 7&8 x 15 wheels were:

    185/70 x 15 (F) & 215/60 x 15 (R)

Only 2 tyre manufacturers supplied the tyres for the original 2.7RS in 1973 - Pirelli (Cinturato) & Dunlop.

What about a set of Avon track tires in those same sizes?

Luis - the only currently-available road-legal tyres that I know of which are made in both sizes are:

Avon CR6ZZ (but fronts are only HR-rated)
    Fulda Y2000

Andy, do you know if Blockley Tyres makes anything appropriate? I have checked their website in the past and it seemed that they were focused on vintage racing tires for Bugatti Type 35s etc, but I saw a blurb in MotorSport recently that Derek Freathy (ex manager for Dunlop Motorsport) has been hired to produce a line of road legal tires suitable for competition. Sizes will range from 15" to 21" so I was wondering if they will reproduce some designs from the '60s and '70s?

Jim - they now produce 16" tyres for XK Jags & C-Types.

I doubt very much that they'd produce anything suitable for our early Porsches - certainly not for road use anyway.

I think they're solely interested in Racing crossplies...

Andy, that's what I thought too, but I see that they will be producing 15" road legal tires, so I was curious what they have in mind.

I just checked their website and there is no info about this new line.

The tires do not need to be road legal as the car will be trailered to and from events with these tires. Some type of track tires might work as well as long as they are period correct and they fit the 7"s and 8"s.

Thanks for the responses fellas. Keep them coming.....
