    WTB: Switches

    Cars; 911 1969-73

I need a fog light switch for the Hella 169 lights, and a switch for Hella 118 driving lights.

For the 169 fogs can I use a hazard switch and change the red disk in the middle?

I am correct that the original setup for the Hella 118 driving lights is a small push/pull switch to the right of the steering wheel similar to the push/pull switch for the rear wiper on the right side of the steering wheel?

If I have not missunderstood earlier posts the driving lights come on when the high beams are activated, but only if the switch is pulled out?

Can somebody post some pics of the different switches both euro and US versions. (with or without rubber ring and plastic symbol in the middle?)

    thanks
    John

    Here are various ones

The correct early switch has a green "dot" in the center (it is painted plastic) and looks like the one on the right. Later, when rubber is used is as center switch. If rubber with green insert (center again) then you can use the red and remove the red insert, or a clear or, in fact, as on the right. If no rubber surround (to match your other switches, if that is the cae) I believe the only correct look is the one on the right. I stand by and look forward to corrections. I am talking about the switch knob above. The 4 leftmost switches may have different part numbers as complete assemblies but the switch itself (the rear part) is the same in fact. The rightmost one is, in this case, a dual rear window defrost switch which is two stage an clever use of which will switch different cominations of lights.

I beleive in different countries fog and driving lights were wired different ways; the possibilities are end less. With driving lights, I like mine to be on at the same time as high beams as well as with low beams. For fogs, I believe these usually switch off when high beams come on.

You can also use the old slyle (up to 1969) Hazzard switch.
If you have the US version (Rubber Knob), you can order a new plastic insert to replace the Hazzard Icon with the correct Green foglight Icon.
    (Part number 901.613.802.00)

If you would cut off the Robber knob of a US switch, you will find a EU switch knob underneath.
