Door Lock/Actuator ->oops/kaboing/what was that spring?

I decided to take out the speakers etc from my door.
While I was in there ...
I decided that I should see why the actuator (locking post) does not work properly.
So I set about taking apart the door etc.
Behind the frame for the window rail, is the lock mechanism.

Erroneously, I thought that i had done something to the lock so i was fooling around with a needle nose pliers, and i decided to see why the little spring on the left was doing, and off it came. It seems to be a little broken at the top, but i bent it a little so it would catch again.
Is there a diagram, more detailed than what i attach below, about door lock mechanism, or do i have to pull out the mechanism from the door (i don't want to necessarily keep on pulling things out -- window is still in door btw).
Anyone have a decent diagram of how the door mechanism works? OR should I be ordering a new spring etc?
I think spring is part # 24 in diagram below.

    Hi,

I created these pictures a while ago but they may help here. The spring you are referring to is what pulls the door catch back to its "open door" position. You should be able to change the spring with the lock mech in-situ. If not you will need to remove the door frame. I have a spare spring but I am in the UK. I am sure someone will have

    Great pics

Thanks Alan, these are great pics. I looked all over but these are the 1st pics that make everything much clearer, and i don't have shop manuals.
I will continue to look around re:spring etc.

I guess what I am calling actuator, is called door pull.

    Cheers,

    Karl.
