    911E '72 rear bumber

How difficult (i.e. costly) would it be to change the rear end of this 911E '72 back to original?

    Thanks

Hi Peter, it looks like your car has one of the Mitcom "Update" kits. There's been some discussion of these parts here over the years. It's basically a 1-piece plastic part that bolts to the stock mounting points. I had one on my '66 for years, but replaced it last year with stock parts, and it looks MUCH better. The plastic bumper comes off easily, 2 bolts on the top and two on the underside. SAVE THE REFLECTIVE INSERT. It's worth big bucks if it's in good condition!

    What you need are:
Pair of metal bumperettes, proper configuration for your model year.
Center license plate panel-steel or aluminum
    Trim and fasteners.

The license panels are available new from all the usual sources. The bumperettes may or may not be available new, I purchased used ones.

    It's an easy replacement job.

    Hope that helps.
