    Amazing Serendipity

I posted here a few days ago looking for a single H1 headlight assembly - and ended up buying a couple from fellow members (thanks).

The reason I needed one was that when I got home from a spirited drive in my '72 S Targa the other day one of the headlights was gone. Just the wires dangling down.

I told some of my Porsche friends about it and last night I got a call from one of them. He found the headlight! It was at the base of a stop sign a couple of miles from his house. Since it was from the driver's side, someone must of found it in the street and placed it there. And amazingly it was in almost perfect condition! The lens is not cracked or chipped, the chrome ring is not dinged, the interior parts are fine. I put it back on the car today and the lights work.

I'm going to go buy a lottery ticket.
