Some time ago I bought some old bucket seats that I find very little nformation about. The seller had taken them out from his seventies Alfetta GT thinking they were simply unoriginal junk.
Their brand name is «Delta-racing» but there is a few similarities to my Scheel 101.
Both the Delta-racing ones and the Scheel is full buckets with adjustable backs.
The back adjuster knob is the same.
They are similar in construction with steel frames.
The bolt pattern is the same with 10 6mm bolts.
They are similar in construction with steel frames.
The fabric and vinyl is allmost the same although the Delta-racing ones seems to have been reupholstered so migh look totally different then they did when new.
The design look similar to Scheel 302 but is slightly higher with sharper corners on the head rest.
I know ther is Sceel, Scheel-mann and ASS. Did they have other brand names too?
Together with my Scheel 301
The same bolt pattern.
The same back adjuster knob
hi reidar, i can't say much about your delta seat, as it is not my collection area. I still know the seats and are of course a completely different era than the Scheel 101 you mentioned. I can't find much resemblance either ;-) to answer your question: yes, of course there were other than scheel (and successors) and recaro some other smaller manufacturers in Germany in the 60s and 70s. As a rule, these small manufacturers have bought parts for the production of their seats (here e.g. the adjusting wheel) from the big manufacturers. the seat rails were also part of this. scheel sold significantly more parts than recaro, which is why the scheel rails are more common today. note: Scheel also started small and back then (1966/67) bought some small parts from Recaro. likewise parts of the rail. so is nothing out of the ordinary. Hope I could help a bit. regards uwe
Thanks uwe!
So some components of it may be bought from Scheel or simply bought the same place as Scheel bought theirs.
I’m guessing their from either late seventies or early eighties and where I live buckets this old is hard to find.
If parts are shared between Recaro, Sheel and lesser brands sutch as Delta-racing, Kønig, Prinx and Mexico GT they should be of some interrest at least as a source for parts.

Vintage bucket seats is addictive..
Picked up this Scheel Mann today. Not mint but nice. A few tears here and there and oddly two burn marks on the underside.
Does anyone recognize the model? They are fibreglass with a hole for scrotch strap. Pretty lightweight and unfortunately to narrow to fit me. This might be what I need to loose some weight..

hello reidar, your scheelmann bucket has the name "302 P". where the "P" stands for the extra narrow version. i have this in a catalog from 1979 (certainly not the only year of construction). hope i could help a little.
regards uwe
Thanks Uwe. It is indeed quite narrow. Not sure loosing 30kg will get me into it…
