    Hi Uwe,
I was kidding, as you said it is very hard to say from the back side of the seat.
    Kommentar:

Well, back to to original topic!

Thank you all so much for your help. I will pull them out of the garage and take some side photos tomorrow. Sounds like they are the 67 buckets though.

    Thanks, Mike !

    I.D. sport seats

I am in the process of switching seats in my 66 912. When I bought it 13 years ago, it had these Recaro seats in it. PO had installed them in the early 80s. They appear to me, to be 100% original black vinyl and wide black cord. They are driver`s and passenger side double lockers, but I need someone to tell me what year these seats are.......I`m thinkin 72/73. I`m putting an original Speedster seat on driver`s side, and standard seat on passenger side. Here`s some pics of the passenger seat I just pulled out. Let me know if you need more pics.

So....what year are these concours correct for? I will be selling the pair when I`m finished, and want to describe these correctly. I`m fabricating a steel frame for the Speedster seat to fit the 912 bases. Thanks

look here, that would be an alternative to your standard passenger seat, for example for events or cars and coffee - quickly installed and removed. Crunchy raw shell from the mid 60s,with beautiful patina and fits better to the "speedster character" - for a little comfort for co-driver you could stick some strips of padding lengthwise here. weight then again significantly lighter than your speedster driver's seat ;-) if you are interested, please let me know....

I`ve had this steel Speedster seat in several of my cars over the years, most recently in my old 58 sunroof coupe for 26 years that I sold 6 mos ago.......I`ve had Speedster seats in ALL my 356 cars......and now it`s going in the 12.........it`s the last link to the 356 cars I`ve owned.......this is the first time in 50 years I hav`nt owned a 356! Here it is now as I`m mocking it up on the passenger side, it will be going on the driver`s side........needed to add a 3/4" spacer to bring it up so I can see over the dash!
