Arrow my 912 has a 911 motor, raintray?

figured id ask here since you all are more knowledgable and nicer than the other site

Im guessing my setup is identical to the early 911s, i have that big black metal aircleaner on top of triple webers. like this, but not as clean

I see lots of 911 raintrays listed but what one is right?

the top picture is a 912 rain tray. I could use it on one of my cars if you are interested in selling/trading

Darn! Oh well, at least you know what the top one is now. I can't tell from the picture if the bottom one is different or just the backside

what i see are 2 of the same items taken from different angles. both are for
    912's. my understanding is that the factory offered these to keep water from the generator and distributor. let's get back to your statement;

**I see lots of 911 raintrays listed but what one is right?**

i am not aware of a corresponding item for a 911. can someone please clarify?

    Hi,

Those were not fitted to 911s and were 912 only
They will also not fit on a 911 motor as it will hit the fan before the engine lid shuts.

    Thanks

    Jerry,

This is reputably a 911 rain tray for the home market for 911s up to MFI (?) .
It might be worth checking the parts cd out of curiousity.
I'd like to see how it fits on a car !
I can't remember if this pic came from this board or Pelican or e bay.

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

    Hi,

It may be that cars sent to Oz had some unique features such as that in the picture. I have seem some similar things on VWs.

    ...cars sent to Oz ...

    Alan,

    By home market,I meant Germany.
Anyway,we probably wouldn't need something like this due to our lack of rain these days - NOT like other countries, like the UK ??

    Cheers,
    Dennis.
