Is 69 tranny ground strap different?

I need to put a ground strap on my 69S but Pelican only has one for 1972-1989. Will the one sold by Pelican be correct? From the picture it looks like it might be on the long side. Anybody know?

I've never really had reason to measure any length difference, but I can see where maybe the 915 trans might use a longer strap, but I can't imagine the difference would be all that great. I guess if you really want to be sure, wait and get the correct part number from Porsche. I'm sure Stoddard will have it.

The ’72 and later transmission ground strap (999.611.920.20) is wider and slightly shorter than the ’71 and earlier strap (999.611.918.20).

    ground strap trick!

I run two ground straps on my 67 911s one little stock strap from nose of trans. to chassis. Then a pice of plastic coated battery cable with a small eye gromit under starter lower nut and loop it out ofthe way (wire ties) back to noise of trans and then on the ground stud and tighten on the nut.
After I did this I eliminated all hot starting probelms from running on tracks. A old German VW repair shop did this on old 6V VWs.
