    Front jack point?

Is there a front center jack point that will get both front wheels off the ground so I can switch the front tires?

One at a time. But, in all honesty these cars are torsionally stiff enough that lifting one side in the front will often bring the other side up. Targas may not exhibit this tendency.

I use the torsion bar protective bracket to jack the car.

    Sure Don,

The right or left front torsion bar cover is the best location... the car is stiff enough to lift both front wheels jacking one side...

    However,

Iv'e jacked the front of my car up for years on the front pan-tank support-cross member, the one with the looped rod factory tow hook in the middle. Center the jack on the cross member right on the tow hook (making sure you are not too far rearward ... avoid the gas tank)

Some large 2 1/2 ton floor jacks will not fit at this low point... however the 'new' type 1 ton aluminum floor jacks work just perfect.

    Hope this helps,

If you do jack from the center of the car as opposed to one of the torsion bars covers I might be inclined to use a piece of wood, say a short piece of 2X4 or 2x2 if you can squeeze it in, to distribute the load.

Bummler; thats exactly what I do. With the new low alu jack I can put a 4*2 between the jack and the car. I put the 4*2 accross the torsion bar covers, both sides. But I always put a couple of spare wheels under the car for safety if I am doing some work under the car.
