THE man, THE car - may the bidding begin!

Just don't get much cooler than this!

"Steve McQueen stands next to his 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso in an undated file photo released to Reuters on April 27, 2007. A 1963 Ferrari once owned and driven by the late film star Steve McQueen is expected to fetch between $800,000 and $1.2 million at an auction in August, Christie's said."

Was parked next to it at the Shelby deal last year...

Was owned and restored by the former head of restoration for the Nethercutt Auto Museum........ It's a KNOCK OUT !!!!!!!!

McQueen special order metallic 'Root Beer' over light Tan... one of the BEST paint jobs I've ever seen...
As strange as that combo might sound for a Ferrari…… it's just stunning...

    Cheers,

I received these photos from a friend last night. This is probably the only Ferrari ever made that looks good in brown.

If a brown Ferrari is good what's wrong with "Mr. Jennings" Cadillac Autumn Rust Poly paint? That was one of the hurdles everyone seemed to take issue with until they saw it in person.
Take note that there are now a bunch of 2007 cars and beyond showing up in various shades of brown. What comes around goes around. Bell bottoms, tie dyed shirts and sideburns... eh, Chuck?

    Thumbs up

    Hey Tom,

That old hot rod of yours showed up at the first Pasadena Art Center Car Show some years ago and just KNOCKED ME OUT...

Then I got close enough to see the interior color and it KNOCKED ME OUT all over again...

Jennings' esthetics had both sophistication AND balls........

As much as I like to go rounds with'ya ... I have to agree that old car is definitely da-bomb ...

    Cheers bud,

    Are Lussos Cool?

I am amazed that Steve McQueen would be seen in a Lusso.

Smile when you say that Mr. Callahan....

The 'Luxury' Ferrari is one of the BEST, well balanced, fast long distance touring cars you'll ever have the pleasure of driving...

Back in the day I never knew of a Lusso actually owned buy a woman... but many were more then willing to drive in one.....

    Cheers, you diluted soul...

    Welll, Maybe Like This One

    Chuck:

Sure they are easy on the eyes, but maybe lacking in the visceral appeal category. First one I ever saw had a lady at the wheel (Lido Beach Club 1965).

A 330 LMB is as close as SMcQ should have gotten to the Lusso look!

But hey, horses for courses, if some guys like 'em, go for it.
