    Air Conditioning re-visited

I have a Stock, Factory installed Air Conditioner in my 1973 911.

It has a York compressor. I've heard other people say that a more modern and efficient Rotary AC compressor will bolt up to the Factory Brackets without modification.

Does anyone know which compressor will do this????

I've never had AC in one of my earlier cars. but I just replaced the York in my 78 930 with a Sanden and it works perfectly. I sourced the adapter plate, a new set of hoses, and a new dryer from one of the folks that advertise in Pano (Griffiths, I think, although my records aren't handy just now), and everything fit perfectly.

I know the rotary does not look correct in our early cars, but in my opinion AC looks terrible anyway, and the York vibrates so much that I fear for other parts. My 930 has only 15k miles, and the original bracket had fatigued from the vibration.

    I highly recommend this upgrade.
