    seat belt help

    hi,
    i am thinking about getting these belts for my 66. my car does have mounting hole in the back. does anybody know which one i should get?

    Here is what they said in reply to a Q I sent them.

    The KT109-3-RET-901 is not shown on our website because I must tell each customer that there is the possibility that the inertia reel may interfere with the movement of the rear seatback. This is the case in some cars and not others. If there is interference, you must decide at the time of installation if you want the rear seatback up or down, then it will stay that way. This system looks just like the ones shown for the Porsche 356 ( http://www.peparts.com/Detail.bok?no=53 ). (The reel does mount to the factory shoulder point provision that is forward of the provision in the 356.) This is a great system and most 912 owners are very happy with it.

    The KT109-3-NON-901 ( http://www.peparts.com/Detail.bok?no=112 ) is a three point NON-retracting seatbelt system.

    I have some of those seatbelts, they are a great "driver" upgrade, but they are somewhat flimsy by modern standards. I would be interested in replacing them if a more robust solution was available (the belts also don't "lock" very quickly). They are certainly easier than stock belts, but I'm not sure they offer more protection.
