    Thanks,

I just sent an email to Brett.

i did just get a reply from the minilite company.. what they say is disheartening. They have one kind of lug nut for the porsche, and if it doesnt fit, ill need to machine the wheel or get longer studs, and if it does fit perfectly, they are of very poor quality anyways.

Attached are 2 pics of the lug nuts im looking for

    Hello Harry

We can supply a sleeve nut to suit the Porsche, however, it only comes in one length, so if you don't get enough thread engagement you may have to either use longer studs or machine the washer recess deeper.

If you're lucky, they'll be the correct length!

We don't supply this type of nut as standard with our wheels any more, and we only have one source of supply and the quality of the chrome is very poor.

We will only supply these nuts on the understanding that we do not accept liability for the chrome coming away and subsequent rusting - for however short a period.

If you accept these conditions, as we only supply these nuts now as a service, the cost is £2 each + shipping to the States, which is probably about £20.

We accept most major credit cards.

    Kind regards

Search for MAG LUGS 14mm, you will get a few hits. You need 14mm x 1.5. Make sure the lugs you buy come with washers too. I have heard you can have inserts machined into the bolt holes to accept a standard acorn-style nut, similar to the Minilites built after '75, but I don't have any details on cost or how/where.

Most mag lugs available domestically are a bit too bulbous and chrome for my taste, better suited for muscle cars than Minilites. I actually like the ones Minilite offered you, style wise, but $120 shipped will need a little rationalization...

Be carefull though, the (non-original) lugs that came with my wheels were a hair too long and bottomed out on the hub before the wheel was totally snug. It created a curious bit of vibration during driving, but was otherwise undetectable... until my mechanic noticed the slop with the car on a lift. I ended up shaving 1/8" off each lug sleeve on a lathe and all is well.
