    water tight targa?

hi all, i realize this is probably a dumb question but here goes. how water tight were the early targas when they were new? it's hard to imagine them being dry when driven in anything more than a light rain. are modern seals any good? any suggestions on a recommended supplier? thanks

I had a '75 Targa for 13 years that had been restored and it was quite dry when hose washed or in a rainstorm.
If a new car leaked,I would imagine Fritz on the production line would have had his a$$ kicked for poor workmanship !
Those were the days of 'Made by Hand'.
I wouldn't go past Porsche's own seals for quality and fit despite the price.
It is an area that MUST be right !
If you are contemplating a restoration, then you also MUST ensure the rectangular Targa top opening is within specifications otherwise you are wasting your time / money going any further.
The windscreen pillars sometimes are not always square to the Targa bar due to aging and need to be bent !

    Cheers,
    Dennis.
