    Porsche Options - 1971

I've done a search & can't seem to find out whether a rear swaybar was an option in 1971.
If anyone can confirm/deny I would be most appreciative.

    Cheers

A rear bar was most definitely an option. My 71 T targa has front and rear factory bars.

Yes, I have one on my 71 911S, but wasn't that standard equipment? I don't remember ever seeing a 911 without a rear sway bar.

    Michael,

According to the spec book, rear bars were standard on the S and an option on the T and E(except for the hydropneumatic strut cars).
Diameter was 15 mm all round.
This does not take into account the importers ordering all their 911s with bars f & r as standard.

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

I recently completed some research for the COA for my '71T. It has the S Suspension/brake option:

M402 - "Koni shock absorbers front with brake "S", Koni shock absorbers rear, stabilizer bars."

    Hope this helps.
