    RS Carpet Kit install question

    Good Afternoon,

I have removed the interior carpet and padding of my 1970 911S so I could install an RS carpet kit. I have two questions:

    1. What are you supposed to do with the metal brackets that are on the rear parcel shelf? Cut them off, bend then down, leave them alone?

    2. For those of you who have already installed an RS carpet kit, did you use padding material or install the carpet directly to the metal?

I've tried attaching a photo of one of the brackets.

Everyone will have their own version of what they did - I cut off all the brackets & glued the carpet directly to the (painted) metal panels.

another option is to slot the carpet so you can lay it around the bracket and then put the original (V section) trim piece back on.

    either option looks pretty good.
