How do I install these noize reduction items?

I just bought the following 7 damping mats, part numbers 8-14 in this picture :

What I got was this, since Porsche only list one part number for all 7 mats: 911.556.902.00:

Can anyone tell me if this is correct for my 1973 911S? It appears to be hard cardboard-like material, not soft spongy material like the one used on the rear shelf and over the rear wheel wells (part numbers 2-7 in the top picture).

And what is the best way to cut it into shape for a proper fit?

Does anyone have a picture of the material installed in a car?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Cardboard? And you have to cut out the shapes yourself? Ok, but it sounds weak. But whatever PCNA says.

I think you need something that adheres to the chassis metal to dampen vibrations from road and engine. Some folks use BeQuiet (sp), a thickish coating over the metal. I used a DynaMat-like material from JCW to cover flat areas (floor, door and inner fender panels). Use this material or equiv. judiciously. It's weighty.

Does that mean that the material I got (partnumber 911.556.902.00) is the black stuff that needs to be melted onto the floor? And that there is no separate damping mats under the carpet mats?

You are correct. That is the stuff that gets heated and stuck to the metal. There is no other sound damping under the carpet.

    Thanks, Mike!

Mystery solved, then. It saves me some work, since my car has it´s original black stuff still installed.
