Decoder ring for build number on dash

Ok, I know that I have the last 1969 S 2.0 eng built as listed in the tech book.
But the build code numbers stamped on the dash by the ash tray mean nothing. I can't understand what it represents. Is it the sequence number for ALL cars built in 69? Just S's? Means nothing but nice to know? the number on the dash is 1093154

    '1' is for 911

'0' is for coupe ('1' would be for a Targa and '2' would be a Karmann coupe)

    '9' is for 1969

3145 is the sequential # for 911 coupes (or maybe it is combined with Targa bodies, don't know for sure) made in 1969. I am not sure how this # fits in with the Karmann coupe bodies built. They may have their own range of #s or maybe included in the total # of coupe bodies built that year.

    Brian beat me to it

but i think that the sequential number refers to Coupes with Targas having their own sequence..........but also I am unsure whether that includes the Karmann bodies. Logic (and the number quoted) suggests that it includes Karmann coupes.

My 1973 car, in the last 60 E's built in 1973, has the production number of (103) 8915 out of the 9447 coupes built in 1973.

Thanks!!! So it looks like it adds up, as the vin is a late chassis number that ended in Dec 68. Looks like a Christmas built car.
