By 2001, the Boxster had gone through some significant refinements. With it’s 2.7 Liter Six Cylinder Engine producing a health 217hp, these nimble cars now had decent power to go along with their remarkable handling and braking. All this performance and it still sips gas with over 27mpg!!

The owner of this vehicle was meticulous about having everything serviced at its regular intervals by a qualified Porsche mechanic. No maintenance was ever deferred. Within the last 2,000 miles, a complete service was performed on the car. Plus, the paint is all original with no accidents or fender benders.

This Boxster was very well equipped. In fact, the MSRP was almost $55,000! Options include:

    Full Leather Interior
    Comfort Package
    Sport Package
18” Lt. Alloy Turbo Look Wheels
    Wheel caps with colored crests
    Porsche Floor Mats
    Carbon Fiber Door Sills
Carbon Fiber/Aluminum Shifter and E-brake handle

This Boxster was gently used on the weekends for cruises along PCH. And, the motor only has around 24,000 miles on it. When the car was delivered new from Porsche, it had a small oil leak that would not go away. After many service calls, Porsche finally decided to replace the motor completely with a new factory crate motor. The replacement was done at around 11,000 miles. Since then, the car has performed flawlessly!

All books and keys as well as the original window sticker are included.

Sorry, but it is on consignment and I can't sell it for anything lower. However, I do know that there are a ton of 70-80k mile cars that are '98s/'99s in that range that are good cars...I would stay in that market. Otherwise, you know the old addage..."if it is too good to be true..."

    And why is that?
is that simply a issue of supply and demand?
I have heard that some of the early boxsters have had engines issues...thoughts?

not sure seems as though boxsters in the uk have the highest residual value of any car yet in the us they are tanking. supply and demand of course but guess they are perhaps like the 924 of yesteryear not really a porsche. any way best thing is to hold on to it. check out ebay you wont find many actually selling they dont make the reserve not even close.

LOTS of lease returns coming back to the dealerships.

I think this has driven the price down quite a bit. I know I can find plenty of Boxsters in the paper here (Sacramento) for $15k-$20k. Of course, the REALLY nice one owner examples bring more.
