    Taj Kreuzers Speedfest

    The Taj Kreuzers Speedfest is this weekend in Dayton. -well mostly in Kettering actually...

    Who all is going ??

    I'm working/participating most of the weekend ! -the main stuff is Sat, Sun & Mon !!

    Rumor has it that Vic Elford (Master of Ceremonies) has signed on as Celebrity Driver/team mate for one of the Go-Kart teams for Saturday !!

    In addition to all the other cool stuff, the new 997 GT3 RS & Dayton Dragons Cabriolet will be on display...

    I'll be coming from Indianapolis either late Friday or Saturday afternoon. My car's winter spa vacation/makeover has been extended, so I'll be arriving in a brand spankin new Korvette Z06. I challenge Mr. D to an auto-x race for pinks in the GT3 RS (nevermind that the 'Vette ain't actually mine). American bruteness vs/ German precision!!
    Hey, it may be my only chance to get a GT3 RS in my garage!

    Looking forward to the weekend. I am coming down on Friday, stashing the early car at Dave's place, taking his truck and then on to Cinci for my nephew's graduation. I'll be at the Grand Prix event on Saturday and the rest of the stuff over the weekend.

    This will go down as one of my most memorable Porsche events. Vic Elford was the Grand Marshall and we were lucky to hang out with him much of the weekend. It started with a backyard cookout at Cornpanzer's house where we (R Gruppe members Dave, Scott, Brian, Jared, Alan, and me) chatted Porsches with Vic for a couple of hours. The next day, Vic joined the R Gruppe for lunch and then lead the pack to the afternoon car show in his Cayman S (Vic calls it the best car EVER produced by Porsche). Well, actually Dave nervously lead the pack initially, until Vic put the pass on him and took his rightful place at the front! At the car show, Dave and I watched part of the Indy 500 on TV with Vic in a motorhome!! (his commentary was priceless, particular when Milka Dunno found the wall .... ) An unbelievable weekend to say the least.

    I am still in recovery mode but yes it was a great weekend. Having Vic and the rest of the guys over for the BBQ was such a privilage and the best part of it was that the event raises a large amount of money for several local charities. They were so excited that when they left they forgot to take the leftover booze. Im good for the next couple w-e's

    Not only did Vic give of his time and energy to participate (even to the point of driving a go-cart in the celebrity race) , but he also contributed a large portion of his book sales this weekend to the event. Such a class act!

    Brian Fryars RS went home heavier than it came with three awards from the car show including long distance and Judges Choice (Best of show)!
